A Lifestyle Lesson in Letting Go


If you’re reading these lifestyle lessons, my guess is that you’re a pretty evolved soul. You’re interested in creating happiness, health, wealth, and freedom – not only for yourself, but for the rest of the world.


And if that’s the case, I’m glad you’re here.


We need more humans interested in self-discovery and evolution, because the problems of this planet are actually very basic basic and will be solved easily and effortlessly once we all live out the infinite potential embedded in our cells.


One of the things I’m interested in most is teaching humans the truth of who they are and what they can do, which really boils down to showing you how you work.


You are not a mind stuffed into a body. You’re not even a spiritual being have a human experience.


It’s more accurate to say that you, my human friend, are a multidimensional magician.

You just need to know how to use your magic.


One of the most important aspects of creating with your magic is knowing when to use force and when to use faith. We’re pretty well versed in using force, since most of our emphasis right now within the human experience is physical.


Force is what we use when we repeat habits, move our bodies, and practice wise choices so that our time is put to good use in the physical realm. It’s what we do in the physical dimensions.


Faith, on the other hand, is what we use when we surrender our circumstances to the metaphysical parts of ourselves and keep walking even when we can’t see the ground.

Faith requires letting go – letting go of control, letting go of presumptions, and letting go of the need to explain ourselves. In order for faith to truly work its magic in our lives, it requires us to step aside and get out of our own way.


Since our culture tends to value control, decision-making, and rationality, this can be a bit tricky. But knowing how to release the reigns is key to being human.


Here are three practices that can help.


SEE: Notice when you’re especially “grippy.”


There are certain moments in our lives when we can become extra earthy, when we lean into force and try to make something happen because we want it so badly. This experience is usually coupled with an elevated heart rate and breath rate, higher blood pressure, tense muscles, and a ton of frustration.


Although it may seem at these moments that it’s best to keep pushing through – after all, we’ve all heard “no pain, no gain” – these are actually signs its time to use more faith and a lot less force.


STOP: When you’re frustrated, give up.


Contrary to cultural opinion, frustration is not a sign that you should push harder or work better. In fact, frustration is a sign that your body has utilized all the force it can muster – and usually more force will just make things worse.


Have you ever tried to tighten a screw that just won’t go through? If you try too hard, the screw gets stripped and becomes totally useless to your cause.


In those moments, just give up. You might even say out loud, “I give up.”


Stop pushing or convincing or whatever other force you’re using. Instead, take a break, walk away, and go get some new air in your lungs.


START: Lean into mantra and prayer.


Your metaphysical self already knows the solution to whatever situation has triggered your frustration. Your physical self just needs to open up to receive it.


Once you’ve taken a little break and literally allowed your brain time to calm down, go back to the situation and instead of using force, try a little faith.


These are some phrases I will say out loud during these moments, but you might have your own little prayer or mantra to use.


I don’t understand what you want me to do here.

Teach me what to do next.

I’m struggling and I need you to solve this problem for me. Please reveal a solution right now.


Whatever you say, just make sure you say it out loud with your voice and then listen with an open mind. Whatever your mind says to do next, do that.


No matter how silly or irrational it might be, the next step that comes into a clear, calm mind is usually a pathway through. It’s easy to minimize those whispers or to even fight with them if they’re something you don’t want to hear, but remember – that’s just your ego trying to regain traction over your life again.


Use less force and lean into more faith.


Be willing to be a human who’s more than just muscle, and instead move forward adn become a true magician.
